What better way to truly know a homeowner’s experience than a Q & A with one of our previous clients? Meet Lisa and Jerrold. They purchased an Urbis home when it was already under construction. This afforded them the opportunity to fine tune the interior fit and finish, as well as make a few floor plan tweaks, but not have to go through the hassle of starting from scratch or having to endure the permit process with the City of Edmonton. Why did you choose Urbis Infill Homes? What was your initial impression? Did we meet your expectations?
We were looking for a new home in the specific area of Crestwood/East Crestwood and a home that would fit our wants and needs. The modern yet contemporary design that Urbis creates was perfect for our family. We were looking to downsize from our previous acreage home and the sizing of both the home and yard were a great match for our wishes.
Right from the start, our impression of Urbis was fantastic. We loved the small business, family feel of the company and every step of the way our questions, requirements and wishes were met. Even when the things we hoped for were perhaps off the track of the original design... god I love my tub ;)
Tell us a bit about the experience working with the design team?
The design of the home, with it being a spec, was great for our busy lifestyle. And when asked if we could bring in our own designer to work with the Urbis team it was met with little hesitation. Thankfully everyone worked so well together and we couldn’t love the design and finish of our home any more. It was a great joint effort amongst Melanie and the Urbis team!!
How would you describe the construction process? What were some highlights?
Our construction process was smooth and efficient. Deadlines were met... we were on a tight time frame and Urbis met each milestone and our move in date was as promised. Even with a change in project manager mid way through our build, there wasn’t an issue that wasn’t dealt with efficiently or any details missed. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of the individuals that worked on our home. Everyone was fantastic!!
Is there a team member that you appreciated working with? Is there a story or specific instance to feature?
We really enjoyed everyone. The ability to share many conversations that ended in laughter was an added bonus. It felt like the entire Urbis family was on our side and were all open to our wishes. Even after occupying our home we know that the team is there for us and ready and able to help us with any issue that comes up.
Would you build or purchase with Urbis Infill Homes again? Why?
