What’s New With the Urbis Team?
The summer season is busy for us and our clients but we’d like to pause for a moment to celebrate the ladies of Urbis! (Don’t worry, we’re not leaving out the guys — stay tuned for part two)
We have had some exciting shifts on our team, with some stepping into new roles within the company, some new to our team, and some who have been with us for over 25 years! We are fortunate to have a trusted team of women, each bringing their unique qualities and personalities to Urbis.
Katie Warwa, our lead of Design, has now joined her brother Mike Arndt, and father Rick Arndt as partner and owner of Urbis. Congrats, Katie, on this exciting new step!
Katie has been involved in Urbis since it first began, back when we were just a small team of four. She wore many hats and learned the business very quickly. Katie has a Masters of Architecture from UBC, but her role at Urbis is much broader than residential design. She is a “swiss army knife” of talent in her field — she touches everything from marketing, to client relationships, to exterior and interior design of homes, to quality control in construction.
Sarah Trommeshauser has recently joined our leadership team as Client Experience Manager — we are so delighted! We strive to deliver a supportive home building experience for our clients and elevating Sarah to this position will ensure that all of our T’s are crossed and our I’s are dotted.
Sarah has taken on many different roles within our organization and has a clear understanding of what it means to deliver clients the home they have dreamed of. From the first client meeting to the finished home, we know we can count on Sarah to accompany our clients in their building experience!
Danielle L’Heureux, our General Manager, is not showcased nearly enough. She is such a vital part of the inner workings of our organization, an incredible resource to us all, and the “Queen of Accountability.”
She is the reason we have such a wonderful team, as she is the cheerleader for office culture. Danielle has an admirable resume and in-depth knowledge that guides and supports us all. With nearly 20 years of experience working in all functions of business, including executive leadership, Danielle brings a strong foundation of management and client experience skills to the organization.
Lindsay Morris is our Interior Designer and our go-to girl for 3D renderings and finishes. As a key member of our design team, Lindsay is part of all our interior projects from start to finish.
With a Bachelors of Interior Design from Mount Royal University, Lindsay's training and experience in the industry is hard to beat! We love what she brings to the table.
Tami Reich (left) is our Chief Financial Officer and has been with the family business for over 25 years! Tami brings her extensive knowledge of public accounting with a background as CFO for both publicly traded entities, as well as privately owned organizations.
Adrienne Hutton (right) is new to our team as Accounting Manager. She comes to us with over 15 years of accounting experience, including a decade in the housing industry. She has a deep appreciation for the amount of work and commitment required in building a new home and is always looking for ways to make the process more efficient for both the builder and the client.
Together, Tami and Adrienne make up our Finance Team, and we love that both share our commitment and passion for our clients, and the pride we take in all our projects.
Working With Women Who Inspire Us
In May, some of the Urbis ladies attended the Women and Wealth Gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating women in leadership. This event is a great opportunity to connect with our network of female clients and friends across the city.
Pictured in the center (silver dress) is one of our long-time partners, Aness Handous of Tailored Interiors (@tailored_interior on Instagram). Over the years, Aness has offered her expertise and helps us find the perfect furniture for our clients. We have a valued partnership with Aness and love that she shares our drive for quality customer service.
Another woman who makes our team shine is Sharon Litchfield, whose name you may recognize beside a lot of our photos. Sharon is a talented photographer (@sharon_litchfield on Instagram) based here in Edmonton, and she often captures both our team’s portraits and our homes. We are inspired by her and the way she so beautifully photographs all our hard work!
We are often inspired by all the aforementioned women within our team, our partners and our clients, and so many more. It’s nice to be able to take a step back and look at how far we have come together and the ways in which all our unique talents combine to make Urbis such a strong team. We look forward to many more years building custom dream homes here in Edmonton!
